WATERSTAIN is easy and quick to use. After drying, it leaves a soft touch, and the applied color develops a clear, natural, and beautiful appearance, creating an attractive aniline effect. It can be used for crust leather dyeing and finishing processes and is also suitable for use as a preliminary step before full dyeing with Fenice pigments.

FENICE Waterstain + FENICE HCC + FENICE Top Coat

When WTS is used as a base-color application in the pre-stage before full dyeing with Fenice HCC pigments, it helps reduce the number of pigment applications, allowing for a thinner and more even dyeing result. It is especially recommended when fully dyeing light-colored leather into darker shades.

1. If necessary, lightly pre-clean the surface using a Deep Cleaner. When using a Deep Cleaner on uncoated leather, excessive absorption in specific areas may leave a sticky residue; therefore, be sure to use a small amount and wipe evenly over the entire surface. For leather with a very soft surface, lightly perform pre-sanding with fine-grit sandpaper instead of using a Deep Cleaner.

2. Cut the sponge into small pieces, then lightly and evenly apply the Fenice Waterstain to allow it to penetrate. During the process, continuously use a hair dryer at intervals to dry the surface.

3. Lightly apply the Waterstain to the leather surface with a sponge to carry out the first dyeing step, then dry it using a hair dryer. Rather than applying the dye thickly, proceed with a light and even base application over the entire surface.

4. After completing the full dyeing process with pigment(HCC), proceed with the coating process using a top coat.

When dyeing using only Fenice Waterstain

1. Before use, if necessary, clean the entire surface with a Deep Cleaner, then proceed with the dyeing process. This product helps promote even absorption. If the Deep Cleaner penetrates excessively into specific areas, a sticky residue may remain; therefore, use a small amount and apply it evenly.

2. If necessary, the viscosity can be reduced by mixing 3–5% HP Thinner. The use of a spray gun is recommended.

3. When dyeing the entire surface while maintaining a gradation effect, begin the process with the lighter color first.

4. uring the process, continuously dry the surface with a hair dryer at intervals.

5. After the dyeing process, thoroughly brush the surface with a soft brush.

6. After 48 hours, apply a cream-type leather protector and repeat brushing to enhance everyday water repellency and achieve a natural surface finish.

⚠ Precautions

1. As this is a penetrating dye, the color darkens as it is absorbed into the leather.

2. The color becomes darker depending on the number of applications.

3. The degree of darkening may vary depending on whether the leather is coated or uncoated.

4. After completing the brushing process thoroughly, please use the dyed product after 48 hours.

5. As this dyeing technique does not involve a coating layer, partial color transfer may occur depending on the leather’s level of absorption and whether brushing is performed.

6. Please exercise caution during application, as color transfer may also occur if a large amount penetrates into fabric areas or stitching threads on the item being dyed.
